Moving is the perfect opportunity to de-clutter your home.

Rather than selling or tossing your unwanted furniture and household items, it’s even better to do some good and donate it.

Mr. Nice Guy Movers can donate unwanted appliances, furniture and items with a free delivery to charities of your choice.

Regardless of your reason for donating on your move, here are our recommendations for where we can deliver your donated items in Calgary and surrounding areas:

Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre Society:

3640 11a St NE, Calgary. This local organization provides furnishings for people who are transitioning out of homelessness into permanent homes.

The Salvation Army:

3508 32 Ave NE #461, Calgary, The Salvation Army accepts donations of appliances, clothing, furniture, and household goods. Click here for a list of items they accept. There are donation drop off areas in almost every Calgary-area.

Goodwill:

1440 52 St NE #154, Calgary. Goodwill Industries of Alberta is a local non-profit and social enterprise, strengthening communities and making a positive impact across Alberta. They recycle donated goods that our thrift shoppers choose not to buy into cleaning cloths and other reusable materials through their post-retail operations.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore:

3465 Sunridge Way NE, Calgary. Habitat for Humanity ReStores are home and building supply stores that accept and resell quality new and used building materials. Shopping at your local ReStore is a socially conscious decision, as funds generated are used to fund Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta home building projects. It’s also an environmentally conscious decision, as much of what is sold is product that is new, gently used or customer returns that would otherwise end up in a landfill.

MCC Thrift Store:

2946 32 St NE, Calgary.

By supporting your local MCC Thrift Shop, you are making a difference in the lives of others both locally and globally. Your small donation can have a huge impact on the life of someone else. Nearly all profits earned by your local MCC Thrift Shop are contributed to the work of the Mennonite Central Committee.
